Current Work
Configuration and Implementation Manager, BlueMatrix
I started at BlueMatrix as an Associate Account Manager in January of 2020, just before the world ended, and quickly got a crash course in adapting to a changing professional setting; transitioning to full work-from-home in month four of an anticipated six-month training program to get fully up to speed.
I was promoted to Account Manager after just under two years, in December of 2021.
After three years at BlueMatrix, during a corporate reorganization, I stepped up into a more focused role as a Subject Matter Expert on the largest and most complex platform that BlueMatrix offers, running projects for BlueMatrix’s Creator platform as a Configuration and Implementation Manager.
As part of a small but very effective team, I helped to build out new protocols and workflows for my team to assist with the onboarding of new clients, as well as the support of existing clients.
While my face-to-face interaction with clients on a daily basis is no longer necessary, I still relish joining client calls to advise on the best solutions to their requests and helping out internal teams with the institutional knowledge I have gained.
In my day-to-day role, I am responsible for managing projects and working hand-in-hand with our product and development teams to ensure timely delivery of items for new and existing clients ranging from critical compliance issues to wish-list items
Since my time as an Associate Account Manager, when my writing prowess was first noticed by management, I have also been serving as the lead technical writer in charge of distributing critical notifications to clients. In the event of an outage or issue, or even planned maintenance, I am counted on to convey complex technical information in a clear and concise manner such that each of our clients are able to readily understand the important information, regardless of their level of technical understanding. I have also had a hand in numerous marketing efforts, writing or proofreading content for social media or blog posts.
Writer/Editor, SB Nation / Tar Heel Blog
In addition to the technical writing mentioned above, I’m fortunate to have an outlet for my more creative writing in the form of the Tar Heel Blog, SB Nation’s University of North Carolina-specific sports blog.
I’ve been a paid staff writer at Tar Heel Blog since September of 2019, and was promoted in August of last year to be an editor. You can find my name on the masthead, or read some of my latest posts on my author-specific page.

August 2019 - March 2020 (Supervisor)As a member of the excellent Event Staff team, I was tasked with upholding DPAC’s earned reputation for stellar customer service. I was promoted to a shift supervisor in 2019, meaning I was an escalation point for guests wih questions or issues, and was responsible for two to three other Event Staff pesonnel on a given night.
This is, to date, the most fun job I’ve ever had. Unfortunately, I was unable to return to DPAC after the doors reopened following the Covid-19 pandemic due to an increase in responsibility at BlueMatrix.

Mar. 2019 - Sep. 2019
I pitched, wrote, edited, and scheduled blog posts for now-defunct AppStateTailgate.com. It was an exciting opportunity to get to write about the sports teams from my alma mater, but unfortunately the blog site was shuttered in September of 2019.
I was, however, able to screenshot and save most of the posts I was responsible for.

As an Account Manager at Senior Portal, I was quckly given responsibility over a portfolio of 15 clients. I was very excited to be working at a fast-paced startup, and given very promising performance reviews.
Unfortunately, my contract was not renewed after the first three-month period for reasons that were never made completely clear to me

2017
I was offered a brief internship running tech startup Gather Digital’s social media presence, at a time when I thought that social media management and marketing may be a path I wanted to pursue.
It was a great opportunity, and taught me that while I may be a digital native, not everything in the digital space will come easily to me.
