I was born and raised in North Carolina, and have lived here my whole life with the exception of six lovely months studying abroad in Valencia, Spain during the course of my studies at Appalachian State University.

In my free time, I adore travelling and am an absolute sucker for live music. I am fulfilled by creating things, whether that’s recording covers or songs I’ve written, as well as writing poems, short stories, or simply blog posts about college sports. I also love a good pickup basketball game when I can find it, although my jumper has faded a bit from lack of use. I’m a die-hard Appalachian State sports fan, courtesy of the four-and-a-half years I spent in Boone, and root fervently for the Tar Heels as well, since I grew up six minutes away from the University of North Carolina campus in Chapel Hill. I love the outdoors, and am recharged by being out in the wilder places, specifically near water.

I’m deeply motivated by relationships, and fiercely loyal to my family and friends. I’ve always been adept at finding common ground with people, and like to think I’m a good listener. I’m a natural leader, but don’t typically seek out leadership roles; I am at my best when stepping up in times of need. I’m good under pressure, and I’m proud to be commonly relied upon by people in both my personal and professional life to be a calming presence in times of uncertainty.
